Catalytic Converter Stolen from Lexus SUV Parked at Metra Lot Downtown Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report of a theft of motor vehicle parts at 45 West Northwest Highway — a downtown Arlington Heights Metra train station parking lot. Police received a report that a catalytic converter was stolen from a beige 2005 Lexus 330. The driver/owner of the vehicle started the car and it sounded like a new muffler would be needed. The driver/owner checked the muffler area and noticed that the catalytic converter was cut off. The catalytic converter was valued at $800.

The crime is reported to have occurred between Friday August 17, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. and Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 4:15 p.m.
