Burglary Call Turns Out to Be ‘Accidental’ But Criminal Trespass on East Kensington Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 12:44 AM Sunday to a report of a burglary or home invasion that just occurred in the 1900 block of East Kensington Road. Initially, police received a report that the offender chased the resident out of his home. Police were on the scene within a minute. Police transported two subjects to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. At least one subject was in custody.

Police report that the offender, identified as Matthew Flanagan, of Rolling Meadows fled from the house but then tried to get back inside. The offender claimed he thought the house was a friend’s house. Flanagan was transported to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters, but was then transported by Arlington Heights Fire Department firefighter/paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital because of possible intoxication.

Flanagan was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass and is scheduled to appear at the Third Municipal courthouse on August 30, 2012.
