Ronald Vos was charged with criminal sexual assault last week after discovery that he had improper contact with a student while the boy was 13 to 15 years old. Vos was accused of four separate criminal offenses in his MacArthur Middle School office and in his car parked in Wheeling between September 2005 and March 2007. He also was accused of giving the victim cigarettes and alcohol and reportedly exchanged e-mails and instant messages with the teen.

Ronald Vos was released after posting 10 percent of a $100,000 bond and was due to appear in court Feb. 27, 2009.

Prospect Heights Elementary District 23 suspended him with pay and barred him from school property immediately after allegations surfaced in early September 2008.
