Hit-and-Run Driver Flees Rollover Crash on Euclid Ave Near Steak ‘n Shake

Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:55 p.m. Friday to a report of a rollover crash with entrapment on Euclid Avenue near Steak ‘n Shake and east of Elmhurst Road. Mount Prospect police were first on the scene as a report came in that a driver of a large black SUV hit the victim’s car and fled. An alert Prospect Heights or Mount Prospect police officer responding to another call discovered the black SUV near Camp McDonald Road with front-end damage. Police reported the driver was in custody in the 100 block of Camp McDonald Road. Police also requested paramedics to the scene on Camp McDonald Road. The vehicle was driven with air bags deployed.

No word on how many people were in the black Chevy SUV. Firefighters arriving at the scene of the rolled vehicle reported two victims suspended upside-down in their seat belts. No word on their condition.
