Oops! Entire San Diego Fireworks Display Goes Off in 30 Seconds Instead of 15 Minutes

The Big Bay Boom Firework Show in San Diego for 2012 was a “Big Bay Bust”. There was a technical problem and ALL of the fireworks went off within 30 seconds. The original Big Bay Boom was set to last about 15 minutes.

A computer malfunction apparently caused the entire 15-minute fireworks display to detonate in about 30 seconds on Wednesday night, July 4, 2012. Rumble was felt with three large explosion sites that looked like giant white hot Google markers, instead of fireworks.

We sincerely apologize for the technical glitch that affected the ‪#BigBayBoom‬. Event producers are currently investigating the cause.

On San Diego morning television news stations, Garden State Fireworks apologized to thousands of residents who surrounded the bay to watch the display.
