Strong Armed Robbery: Boyfriend Takes Wallet from Girlfriend Near Metra Station, Schaumburg

Schaumburg police responded about 8:04 a.m. Tuesday to a report of a strong armed robbery near the Metra train station at 2000 South Springinsguth Road. Police received a report that a man pushed down his girlfriend, took her wallet out of her purse, and fled.

The offender was described as a male/black subject wearing a blue shirt and tan khaki pants.

Police stopped the train while it was in the station to search for the offender. The victim could not be found and attempts to call her back went to voice mail. The female victim was reported to be in a black Dodge Charger. Police found the victim about 8:14 a.m. and learned the crime occurred on the Roselle side of the Metra station.

Police reported at about 8:12 a.m. that there was no offender on the train.

The offender was last seen eastbound along the railroad tracks and was east of Rodenburg Road when the witness last saw the offender. Schaumburg police found the suspect bout 8:24 a.m. at Mitchell Boulevard and Irving Park Road, and detained him for Roselle police.
