Driver, Passenger Bail After Crash with Tree on Hatlen Ave, Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect police responded about 3:19 a.m. Saturday to a report of a car vs. tree crash in the 200 block of Hatlen Avenue near Bonita. Emergency responders received a report that at least two people were getting out of the car and running from the scene. Police arrived first and reported no vehicle occupants were on the scene. Firefighters continued to responded to shut of the car horn that could not be shut off. One of the crash victims was described as tall and skinny with a head injury. The windshield also shows signs that a victim’s head hit the windshield. At least one of the subjects ran into the area of the Dana Point Condos or Central Park East Apartments. One of the subjects was described as a male/white 5’9″ thin build wearing a dark T-shirt and dark pants. He was last seen running toward Central Road.

Arlington Heights police responded to the area with a K-9 unit

About 3:36 a.m. Mount Prospect police received a report of a suspicious male pounding on the back door of a house in the 1900 block of West Lincoln Street — less than one-half mile from the crash. He was also yelling “let me in!” Police were on the scene within three minutes, and found the subject on the ground. Police immediately call for paramedics for the man with an injury on his face.

Police also found the second subject at his residence in Mount Prospect.

Police transported two subjects to Mount Prospect Police Department Headquarters. One adult male subject was in custody. One subject transported was not in custody.
