Cook County Sheriff police officer punched in the face
Bond was set at $10,000 today for a man who was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting a police officer and aggravated battery, which is a felony, Cook County Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced Friday May 25, 2012. On Thursday May 24th, Sheriff’s Police Patrol Officers were called to the 4900 Block of South Lockwood in Stickney Township, regarding a noise complaint. When officers arrived on the scene to address the loud music, Miguel Coronilla, the 39-year-old resident, answered the door and appeared to be highly intoxicated.

When asked to lower the volume on his radio, Coronilla expressed that he would not comply with the officer’s request and told the officer that he would ‘remember his face’ and would ‘kill him.’ The officer once again asked Coronilla to lower the music and also to provide his identification. At that point, Coronilla became enraged and struck the officer in the face with a closed fist.

As additional officers on the scene attempted to take Coronilla into custody, he continued to be combative. Eventually they were able to apprehend him with no further incident.

Coronilla appeared in Bridgeview Courthouse this morning where his bond was set at $10,000. His next appearance is scheduled for June 18th.
