Des Plaines police shot and killed Carlos Salgado, 44, about 3:12 p.m. Sunday at a strip mall in the 1900 block of East Touhy Avenue. Salgado was dead at the scene. No information is available about how the shooting occurred. More than one police officer was also injured. Injured police were treated at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Illinois State Police are investigating the police-involved shooting.
