#ad▼

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday to a report of an outlet on fire at a house in the 800 block of North Kennicott Avenue. The homeowner extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher before firefighters arrived. The fire was possibly related to a transformer block plugged in to the outlet.

There were at least two fire alarm activations at other addresses on the west side of town just before the fire occurred that were possibly caused by power line fluctuations. A downed power line was also discovered in an alley near Northwest Highway and Dryden about 9:20 a.m.

An activated fire alarm also occurred at ComEd, 201 North Arthur Avenue about 9:26 a.m.
