Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:38 AM Saturday August 18, 2018 to a report of a crash with entrapment at Roselle Road and Kristin Drive Schaumburg, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that at least one person was trapped in a vehicle involved in a crash. Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived to find a car partially on top of another in the parking lot at Residences at the XXI, 21 Kristin Drive.
UPDATE: In daylight it appeared that a southbound BMW sedan left the roadway on the west side of Roselle Road, clipped a tall metal light pole, knocked down a small tree, possibly damaged a few cars in the condo parking lot and then hit an apparently parked Jeep.
An extended accident investigation was underway after dawn Saturday.
There was crash debris in the southbound lanes of Roselle Road just south of Kristin Drive. Initially it was unknown if one vehicle left the roadway and hit a parked car in the parking lot, or if two cars crashed in the southbound in both vehicles and ended up in the parking lot. It appeared a sedan and a Jeep had significant damage inside the parking lot. No damaged vehicles came to rest on Roselle Road.
Schaumburg police closed off about a 50 to 100 foot radius around the crash scene. All southbound traffic on Roselle Road is being diverted to eastbound Commerce Drive across from Kristin Drive. Initially there was no access to westbound Kristin Drive.
