Kitchen Fire in Apartment on Belinder Ln, Schaumburg

Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics and police responded about 11:58 p.m. Friday to the 600 block of Belinder Lane. Firefighters first on the scene reported heavy smoke on the first floor. Firefighters discovered a small fire in the kitchen.

The fire was extinguished by about 12:20 p.m.

Elk Grove Village firefighters and Hoffman Estates firefighters assisted Schaumburg firefighters either at the scene or standing by in Schaumburg fire stations.

Firefighters also responded nearby about the same time to Tree House Apartments at 2540 Crooked Creek for an activated fire alarm. No fire was the the Crooked Creek address.
