Oswego Baseball Youth, Eric Lederman, Dies After Head Injury from Baseball Accident at Hatton Park, Wheaton

Wheaton police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:00 p.m. Wednesday to the report of an injured baseball player at Hatton Park in the 1700 block of Weisbrook Road. Eric Lederman, 12, suffered head trauma after being hit by a baseball.

The Oswego boy, who was injured while he was playing baseball, was transported to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, and was then transferred to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. The children’s hospital at Lutheran General Hospital is also certified as a pediatric trauma center.

Eric Lederman was pronounced dead about 10:00 p.m. Thursday.
