Elk Grove Village police responded about 4:33 p.m. Thursday of a battery near the intersection of Biesterfield Road and Meacham Road. Police received a report from a third party that the driver of a Ford Taurus got out of his car and beat a bicyclist. The driver then got back in his car and drove away. Police spotted the Ford Taurus within about two minutes and stopped the vehicle at Biesterfield and Columbia.

Apparently the bicyclist did not wish to be seen by police. No word on whether the driver of the Ford Taurus was arrested.
