Rolling Meadows police investigators were working a drug arrest about 8:55 p.m. Friday at the Burger King, 1540 East Northwest Highway, when one suspect ran from an apparent drug buy in a red GMC Envoy. Police had one suspect in custody, but another suspect fled before he could be detained in the red GMC Envoy. The Envoy was driven up on the grass to avoid a road block with police vehicles, and was driven at a high rate of speed westbound on Northwest Highway, and then northbound on Route 53. There was no police pursuit of the suspect.

Palatine police observed the vehicle getting off at the eastbound Palatine Road ramp from northbound Route 53.

Illinois State police and Arlington Heights Police were notified to be on the lookout for the Envoy.
