#ad▼

Los Angeles police are alerting homeowners about cases that have involved burglars entering homes through doggie doors.

At least seven or eight ‘doggie door’ burglaries occurrred in the West Valley area recently. The suspects have entered via the doggie door and sprayed pets with pepper spray or similar noxious substance.

Police also report they are seeing an increase in second floor entries during burglaries using a ladder to access the second floor.

Police recommend that residents secure dog doors, and that the second floors of residences also have burglary sensors, such as motion detectors and glass breakage detectors.
