Car Fire Near House Extinguished on Afton Circle, Inverness

Palatine Rural firefighters responded about 10:14 a.m. Monday to a report of a car on fire in the 1400 block of Afton Circle, Inverness. Firefighters received a report that the car was about 15 feet from a house. The flames were reported to be reaching to the top of the car from the bottom of the car. First firefighters on the scene reported that there was no danger of communication to the house

Firefighters from Barrington, Long Grove and Prospect Heights assisted Palatine Rural Fire Protection District firefighters; but most units were returned with the risk to the house minimal.

No injuries were reported.
