Red Tails bring the courage to fight in the face of adversity!

“At all cost, you protect the Heavies!”

1944. As the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options — including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home, they are given the ultimate chance to show their courage. Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country — and the fate of the free world.

George Lucas (Lucasfilm) is the executive producer of ‘Red Tails’ which is directed by Anthony Hemingway, from a screenplay by John Ridley and Aaron McGruder. The major motion picture story, written by Ridley, is inspired by true events. ‘Red Tails’ is based on the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African American servicemen during World War II.

‘Red Tails’ stars Cuba Gooding, Jr. who previously starred in The Tuskegee Airmen, an HBO made-for-television film about the same group of pilots.

George Lucas took on the challenge of making Red Tails, the culmination of 20 years of work. Here in his own words about the inspiration and why he felt this was an important story to tell.

“Nothing is difficult, everything’s a challenge” –Dr. Roscoe Brown, Original Tuskegee Airman.
