Schaumburg police responded about 7:30 p.m. Thursday to a report of a battery in the east parking lot of Woodfield Mall near Macy’s — Pole E2. Police received a report that a victim was punched in the face. Schaumburg firefighter/paramedics were called to the scene as police arrived. No word on whether the victim was transported to a hospital
The offender was described as a male/white in his 30’s about 5’9′ heavy build with a goatee, wearing a Bear jersey. The offender fled in a white 1999 GMC Jimmy and fled eastbound on Golf Road.
Park Ridge police had a suspect connected to the vehicle in custody by 8:20 p.m. Schaumburg police were working on the case Thursday night.
