Illinois Tollway Software Issue with I-PASS May Have Cause Unnecessary Charges and Refunds

#ad▼

The Illinois Tollway’s I-PASS system encountered a software issue on the morning of December 9, 2011 and erroneously began a cycle of account charges and refunds to I-PASS accounts that were scheduled for automatic balance replenishment.

Because of the software issue, I-PASS customers may notice unnecessary charges and refunds from the Tollway on their credit and debit cards.

Illinois Tollway personnel are currently working to ensure that all I-PASS automatic replenishment accounts have been correctly refunded, and are working with banks to ensure that customers do not incur overdraft fees as a result of the Illinois Tollway computer problem.

The Tollway is also working to proactively alert customers who may have been impacted by the software issue.
