Gurnee Man Arrested on Finch Court After Gun, Cannabis Located During Search Warrant by Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force Detectives, DEA

On Tuesday July 31, 2018, the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force, in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), conducted a search warrant at a residence in the block of 4300 Finch Court, Gurnee. Police acted on the search warrant after a month-long investigation, and arrested Daivon Cobb, age 20, of Gurnee. Cobb resides at the location the search warrant was conducted.

During the search, Lake County Sheriff’s Gang Task Force Detectives and DEA personnel recovered one handgun, multiple bags containing a total of 26.8 grams of cannabis, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed the handgun was previously reported stolen.

Cobb was subsequently charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver (Class 4 Felony), Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (Class B Misdemeanor), Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor), Unlawful Use Weapon-No FOID (Class A Misdemeanor) and Endangering the Life/Health of Child (Class A Misdemeanor).

Cobb was released on bond after posting 10% of his $20,000.00 bail. Daivon Cobb is due in Lake County court on Friday, August 3, 2018, at 9:00 AM. His court appearance is scheduled in Courtroom T110.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Gurnee Police Department also assisted during the search warrant.

Sheriff Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
