Two Steeple Repair Workers Rescued from Stuck Lift at United Methodist Church in Morristown, New Jersey

Two men who were stuck in a construction bucket lodged against a church steeple have been rescued. They were working at a New Jersey church when their construction bucket became disabled around 2 p.m., preventing them from descending.

The repairmen working on the steeple at the United Methodist Church in Morristown, New Jersey were rescued by firefighters and crane contractors after their construction bucket became disabled around 2:00 p.m.

Two New Jersey State Police helicopters also assisted the rescue. Workers were about 122 feet in the air, just beyond the reach of fire department ladder tower trucks. A larger crane from Bruce R. Koerner cranes with a hanging bucket was used to reach the workers. According to koernercranes.com, some of their crane booms lengths are 350 feet.
