Reckless Driver Hits Several Night Shift Cars at Mariano’s Fresh Market, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 3:53 a.m. Monday to a report that a driver in a small purple sedan was driving his car 70 mph in the parking lot behind the apartments at 15 South Dryden. Police received a report that the driver was slamming on his brakes. Minutes later police received a report that a driver was crashing into several vehicles in the Mariano’s Fresh Market parking lot, 802 East Northwest Highway. Police received a report that the driver fled on foot toward the apartments on Dryden, just north of Kensington Road.

Police had one suspect in custody at about 4:00 a.m. Monday. Police immediately called for a Spanish language translator, and for backup. Apparent DUI crash, but no confirmation.
