Stolen Auto Tracked, Found Within Minutes, Suspect Arrest in Front of Portillo’s on Dundee Rd

Arlington Heights police responded about 12:57 a.m. Wednesday to a report of a stolen auto that was equipped with tracking equipment. The vehicle with a tracking device was described as a white Lincoln Town Car that was first reported eastbound Dundee Road from Kennicott. The vehicle reported stolen from Courtyard by Mariott, 3700 North Wilke Road.

Police were in the area within two minutes when the tracking update showed the vehicle was driven into the Mario Tricoci parking lot southeast of Kennicott and Dundee Road. The vehicle was located by police at 1:01 a.m. at the Mario Tricoci parking lot with nobody in the vehicle.

A K-9 unit was called to the scene to track the offender, who was discovered at 1:04 a.m. in front of Portillo’s, 806 West Dundee Road.

One suspect was transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.
