No Airplane Crash at O’Hare During Day Saturday; There Was a Disaster Drill

#ad▼

Chicago firefighters and some suburban firefighters participated in a drill during the day on Saturday at O’Hare International Airport. Elk Grove Village Fire Department participated in the drill, and about 100 volunteers acted as victims in the disaster drill, which included a scenario of a fire aboard and aircraft.

More than 20 federal, local and private organizations took part in the exercise as either players, evaluators or controllers.

Announcements in the terminal informed citizens that no actual emergency existed. The drill, which took place about 10 a.m. to 12 noon, did not effect regular operations at the airport.
