Mount Prospect police responded about 6:09 p.m. Wednesday to Walmart, 930 Mount Prospect Plaza to a report of retail theft in progress. Police received a report that a male/black subject and a female/Asian subject were stealing DVDs and games from the store.
Police were waiting outside during the theft in progress and were given updates from loss prevention personnel inside the store. Police learned that a child about 8-years-old was with the subjects. Both subjects were arrested safely outside at the front of the store.
Police transported two subjects in custody to Mount Prospect Police Department Headquarters. Information about care of the child was not available.
