Railroad Maintenance Equipment Fire on the Canadian National Line North of Kensington Rd, Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect and Prospect Heights firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:25 p.m. Sunday to a fire involving maintenance equipment on the Canadian National railroad tracks north of Kensington Road about 100 yards. The fire did not risk any other structures, and was extinguished within 10 minutes.

Freight trains have been stopped on the line. No Metra alerts, since there is no weekend service on the North Central line.
