Driver Rear-Ends Truck, Bails and Flees on Foot Near Algonquin Rd and Dearborn Ct

VIDEO: Accident scene at Algonquin Road and Dearborn Court early Labor Day morning after drive fled the scene on foot.

Police responded to a report about 2:40 a.m. Labor Day that a 26-foot box truck was struck by a car near Algonquin Road and Cedar Glen. Police arrived to find a small sedan with severe front end damage that had rear-ended the white box truck near the intersection of Algonquin Road and Dearborn Court, Mount Prospect. The driver apparently bailed out of the sedan after striking the struck. A K-9 unit tracked him north of the scene and then south of Algonquin Road.

The truck driver was able to drive his struck from the scene. The offender’s vehicle was towed to a police holding area.
