Townhouse Fire on Fall Court in Wheeling

#ad▼

Wheeling police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:30 a.m. Monday to a townhouse fire at 1311 Fall Court. Police reported fire and smoke showing from the front door. Police were pushed back by the flames, and were checking with neighbors and police records to determine if the units were vacant or occupied.

Wheeling fire command upgraded the fire response to a box alarm just before 3:00 a.m.

Firefighters from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Lake Zurich, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Northbrook, Palatine, Palatine Rural, Prospect Heights and Rolling Meadows assisted Wheeling firefighters either at the scene or by standing by at fire stations to cover the Village of Wheeling.

The fire apparently started in an interior wall and caused significant damage before it was discovered. The unit was vacant and possibly under foreclosure.
