Chicago Fire Department, Police, Coast Guard Rescue Man in Lake Michigan Near Oak Street Beach

Chicago Fire Department, Chicago police officers and the U.S. Coast Guard responded just after 4:50 p.m. Saturday to a water rescue call in Lake Michigan east of Oak Street Beach. Rescuers received a call that a man fell off of a boat.

A 30-year-old man was pulled from the Lake Michigan waters and transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition after he was pulled from the water about 5:00 p.m. Saturday.


The man was pulled from the water by Marine Unit divers, and was brought to shore near North Avenue where Chicago Fire Department EMS/paramedic crews were waiting.
