Speed Radar Tipped, Damaged by Offenders on South Fernandez Ave

Arlington Heights police received a report about 5:45 a.m. Saturday that a group of teens tipped over a speed radar trailer in the 1500 block of South Fernandez Avenue. Police received a report that a group of four teens tipped over a speed radar trailer. One of the teens was described as a male/white in his teens, wearing shorts. The offenders left northbound Fernandez Avenue in a white over dark-colored 4-door Cadillac.

Police uprighted the trailer Saturday morning and returned the trailer back to the police station after making minor repairs to make it transportable. The trailer was damaged and leaking battery acid.


Two alert police officers spotted a black Cadillac vehicle matching the description of the offenders’ vehicle on Arlington Heights Road, just south of White Oak just before 6:10 a.m. Saturday. Police reported bringing in at least one offender related to the case. Police are investigating and working to find at least two other offenders, and are considering charges of felony criminal damage on the case.
