Arlington Heights police received a report about 12:25 a.m. Sunday of a bike theft in progress from the 1500 block of North Arlington Heights Road. Police received a report that a neighbor’s bike was being stolen by three subjects — two male/blacks in dark clothing and a male/white wearing a white T-shirt and white pants. The subjects were last seen running north toward Maude Avenue by the victim’s neighbor. The neighbor believed the subjects might live on Belmont Avenue.

Police arrived on the scene within two minutes and found the subjects with the bike at Belmont Avenue and Maude Avenue. A male/black fled northbound on Belmont Avenue from Maude Avenue, and ditched the bike when he saw police.

Police searched for the subjects in the area of Belmont and Maude and Town & Country Center north of the sighting, but did not find the subjects. A witness reported they saw subjects fleeing about two blocks east of Belmont Avenue.

Police were called to respond to a domestic disturbance at the Speedway at Palatine Road and Arlington Heights Road, so the search was cut short at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday.
