Power Outage Buffalo Grove and North Arlington Heights After Truck Hits Power Line, Arlington Heights Rd and Bernard

Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove police and firefighters responded to a crash and numerous electric power-related problems about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday and following after a truck hit a power line near Arlington Heights Road and Bernard. A line was down and sparking in the area.

A primary line was also down in a backyard near Nichols and Arlington Heights Road. Also, probably related to the truck incident, a power line went down near Dundee and Kennicott near Arlington Nissan.

Power was out in the area and numerous alarms were activated at businesses nearby. Several stoplights were dark as far as Dundee and Ridge Avenue in Arlington Heights.

ComEd arrived on the scene about 7:45 p.m. for repairs.

A crash also occurred at Dundee and Ridge.

ComEd was working in the area after 1 a.m. Wednesday re-hanging a power line in the area of Arlington Heights Road and Nichols.
