Citizen Reports Suspicious Activity, Police Capture Purse Thieves Near Randhurst Village

Mount Prospect police received a report about 8:15 p.m. Friday of suspicious activity of two males near Jewel-Osco, 333 East Euclid Avenue and the parking deck of Randhurst Village. Police received a report from a citizen near the Jewel-Osco that two subjects — one wearing a red shirt and one wearing a yellow — ran out of the Randhurst Village parking deck. One was carrying a red purse. One subject was reported to be going through the purse as they were walking toward the Boxwood area toward Wheeling Road, east of Randhurst Village.

Alert Mount Prospect police officers had the suspects stopped within two minutes. Police arrested one juvenile male and one juvenile female in the area of the 1000 block of Boxwood. Both suspects were transported in custody to Mount Prospect Police Department Headquarters.
