Fire in Camden, New Jersey Destroys Reliable Tire Co. Factory/Warehouse, 10 Homes

A multi-alarm blaze that burned for hours was declared under control after it consumed the vacant Reliable Tire Co. factory building in southern New Jersey and damaged several nearby row homes.

A 12-alarm fire at an abandoned tire warehouse/factory burned out of control Thursday. Initial calls for the fire were reported about 4:00 p.m. Thursday for a fire at a an apartment, which turned out to be the abandoned Reliable Tire building at Mount Ephraim Avenue between Chestnut and Mount Vernon streets in Camden.


No residents were reported injured. A fire captain was treated for heat exhaustion.
