Kevin Vergara, age 29, and wanted on a $40,000 warrant for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, was arrested Friday after a sock he was wearing on his left foot was found to contain a substance that tested positive for cocaine.
Vergara was arrested near his residence near an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Algonquin, just north of the Motorola headquarters and campus.
A Cook County judge set his bail on the new charge at $80,000.
Vergara’s criminal history and background includes a 2002 conviction for the manufacture and delivery of cannabis and supervision for possession of cannabis.
Kevin Vergara is scheduled to appear in court on May 12, 2011.
