Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a tornado caused roof damage in Westmoreland County and large hail was reported from a springtime storm that also dumped snow on parts of the commonwealth.

A tornado touched down in Westmoreland County and caused damage to homes and buildings south of Greensburg, Pennsylvania on Wednesday.


Hempfield High School was damaged in the storm with debris and school supplies blown out near the school. Emergency first responders remained at the scene working to clean up the school after the storm.
Then police had to secure the perimeter of the high school because people were stealing scrap metal and other items that were near the school.
