Driver Flees Traffic Stop for Short Distance; Arrested DUI

Arlington Heights police arrested a DUI driver about 1:30 AM Saturday after a traffic stop when the driver fled for a short time. Police initiated a traffic stop at Yale Avenue and Brown Street about 1:15 a.m. Saturday, but the driver took off. Several police units arrived for backup and the driver was stopped at Brown and Illinois.

The driver was arrested DUI. The male driver was transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. The driver’s vehicle was towed to a police holding area.
