Most Schools Open, Most Roads Cleared, But Visibility at Intersections Hazardous

One day after a massive storm swept through the midwest, burying cities like Chicago in snow, many people were trying to dig out and be reunited with their stranded cars.

Most schools are open; some are open with delays. Also, most roads are cleared, but there are still multiple vehicles getting stuck, especially at commercial and residential driveway intersections with roadways. There are also multiple reports of drivers sliding into snow banks or snow ditches.

Motorists and pedestrians are at risk of serious crashes from vehicles pulling out unseen where snow is piled high. Bewared of disorientation and other drivers that are disoriented by changes in appearance of roadways and intersections due to the snow. Railroad crossings are particularly because of changed conditions with snow.
