HazMat Response for Possible Meth Lab on Oxford Rd, Des Plaines

Des Plaines police and firefighters responded to a suspected meth lab last night the 300 block of Oxford Road, Des Plaines.

Crews in hazmat suits were at the scene starting about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Des Plaines police reported that suspicious items were located inside the residence during an investigation. Hazardous materials consistent with the production of volatile chemicals, and possibly a Meth Lab were discovered.


Arlington Heights Fire Department and Mount Prospect Fire Department HazMat technicians and HazMat vehicles were called to the scene to assist Des Plaines Fire Department, about 12:05 a.m. Wednesday.

Two people were investigated and questioned in connection to a raid at the address Tuesday night.

More information is expected soon from Des Plaines police.
