Customer at Jewel Complains to Person Causing Delay Ahead in Line, Gets Coffee in the Face

Buffalo Grove police received a report about 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, of a disturbance at the Jewel-Osco, 79 North McHenry Road. Customer stated that a person in front of him in the check out was talking on his cell phone, being distracted and then rude to the clerk, causing the check out process to be prolonged. When the customer said something about the delay, the person causing the delay threw a cup of coffee into the customer’s face, the clerk’s face and chest and on merchandise.

No complaints were signed, but restitution for damaged merchandise was made.
