Railroad Gates Malfunction During Evening Rush in Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police discovered just before 6:00 PM Thursday that Union Pacific train gates were down from Vail Avenue to Euclid Avenue. Police noticed the gates were down at Vail Avenue shortly about 5:55 p.m. A heavy traffic jam occurred for the Thursday evening rush hour.

Police were working on getting Metra/Union Pacific repair personnel on the scene for repairs.
