Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:50 AM Saturday to a report of an apartment fire in the 1300 block of North Baldwin Court. Police arrived first to find flames and smoke showing from an apartment window on the third floor. The first firefighters arrived within five minutes of the original call for help. The fire was announced extinguished about 4:15 a.m. after it was confirmed that the fire was out. Flames were actually knocked down in about 11 minutes.
