Car vs. Tree Crash Kills Hector Nieto, Jr. on Main Street, MP

Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:50 a.m. to report of a man entrapped in a car vs. tree crash at Main and Memory, near Main and Highland Street in Mount Prospect. Police arrived first found Hector Nieto, Jr., 23, with severe trauma.

Witness reported seeing the driver’s Toyota hatchback head southbound on Main Street, and then spin out of control, off the road and into a tree.

Hector Nieto Jr., 23, of Prospect Heights and the driver and only occupant, was transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, where he was pronounced dead.

Southbound Main Street was closed at Kensington Road for several hours during a crash investigation by the Mt. Prospect police major accident investigation team.

Mount Prospect Police are urging citizens with information about the crash to call Mt. Prospect police at 847-870-5656.
