Mount Prospect police responded about 3:30 AM Sunday to a report of a cab driver-customer dispute in the 300 block of South Douglas Avenue, near Douglas and Lincoln and near the Arlington Heights-Mount Prospect municipal border. Police received a report that a male was in a dispute with the cab driver and was not paying his fare. The customer allegedly threatened to shoot the cab driver and said something about being ‘crazy South Side.’ No weapon was displayed.

Mount Prospect police sent at least four police squads to the scene.

The customer entered a home on the block before police arrived. No information available whether the man was contacted inside the home or not.

No word on any arrest.

  1. All the articles I read about calls to the police end in some nebulous limbo where nothing was done. Why do the cops bother to show up? Leave the cops alone! Can’t you see they’ve got better things to do than make arrests?
