Natural Gas Leak Causes Explosion Risk, Neighborhood Block Area Evacuated in Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights Fire Department received a report of a gas leak just before 1:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Olive and Dryden. On arrival, their gas detection meter showed a level of gas that posed a dangerous mixture with air that could cause an explosion. Several homes in the area require evacuation of residents as fire units and residents wait for Nicor to arrive on the scene to stop the gas leak.
