Fatal Hit-and-Run Pickup Truck vs Bicycle Route NB 59 Near Old Dundee Rd: Police Searching for Dark Vehicle with Front-End Damage

DARK TOYOTA TUNDRA PICKUP TRUCK WITH FRONT-END DAMAGE
Barrington Hills police and Barrington Countryside FPD firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:51 PM Friday May 11, 2018 to a report of a bicyclist hit by a vehicle on NB Route 59 near 42.125593, -88.160191 (Route 59 and Route 68 Barrington Hills, Il). A Lake Zurich Fire Rescue chief discovered a bicyclist hit by a vehicle. The bicyclist was found down on the side of the road with life-threatening injuries on northbound Route 59 between Route 62 and Route 68. The bicyclist was pronounced dead some time Friday night.

UPDATE: Victim identified as Rafal Ryndak of Schiller Park

The suspect’s vehicle that left the scene of the fatal accident is described as a dark vehicle with front-end damage. The vehicle was last seen northbound on Route 59 from Route 62 in Barrington Hills. The offending vehicle is possibly a dark Toyota Tundra pickup truck.

Route 59 was shut down between Route 62 and Route 68 since about 10:27 p.m. and is expected be shut down into the early morning hours with an extended accident investigation.

The crash also reported on Waze. The crash appears to have occurred about 1000 feet south of the intersection of Old Dundee Road and Route 59/68.
