Arlington Heights police responded about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday to Northwest Highway and Windsor for a car crash with a tree. The car was apparently in a westbound lane of Northwest Highway when it snapped a parkway tree low on the trunk and continued westbound over 100 feet — almost to Wilshire. The airbag was deployed and, at first, injuries were reported. Paramedics responded, but apparently no serious injuries occurred.

The driver was not charged with a DUI, and it is unknown what caused the driver to hit the tree and continue for such a great distance after the collision.
