Hit-and-Run Driver Arrested After Leaving Scene of Crash at Euclid and Wedgewood, Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect arrested a hit-and-run driver about 12:20 a.m. Friday after a hit-and-run at Euclid Avenue and Wedgewood in Mount Prospect. A gray Chevy Tahoe and a green Ford Escape collided at Euclid Avenue and Wedgewood. The Tahoe driver fled westbound on Euclid Avenue, and northbound on Rand Road. The driver of the Ford Escape followed the offending vehicle and Mount Prospect police caught up with the offending vehicle, as an Arlington Heights police squad happened to be approaching the area southbound on Rand Road. A slow-speed pursuit continued eastbound on Camp McDonald. The offending driver was in custody by 12:30 a.m. at Elmhurst Road (Route 83) and Camp McDonald.

Prospect Heights police and Arlington Heights police assisted Mount Prospect police on their arrest.

It is unknown if there were DUI charges included with the hit-and-run arrest.
