Arlington Heights police received a report about 2:20 a.m. Thursday that three to five youths were hiding in bushes and grabbing lawn ornaments in the 300 block of South Gibbons. The subjects were reported hiding in front of a house at the northwest corner of Mayfair and Gibbons. A few minutes after the Gibbons call, police received a call for two suspicious subjects in the 300 block of South Windsor. The subjects were described as a male/Hispanic and a male/black. One of the subjects was wearing a white T-shirt.

The updated report from the Windsor homeowner, who got a good look at the subjects, was that a male/Hispanic and a male/black were prowling the backyards between Carlyle Place and Windsor in the 300 South block. Homeowners discovered a backyard fence gate open between Carlyle and Windsor. A dog woke up homeowners at one of the residences. When the homeowner rushed downstairs, he got a good look at the subjects — who he described as being ‘in their 20’s.’ The subjects were last seen heading southbound on Windsor, and may a have come from the Carlyle side of the yards.
